Welcome Back!
One of my favorite things about the start of a new school year is that it is so very rich with possibility. Every student walks through our doors with unique strengths, interests, questions, and dreams. Our collective responsibility is to provide the learning experiences that help those possibilities grow, and helping that happen across the district is the most important thing I do.
This summer was an exciting one across Riverside. As a district, we took time to reflect on who we are, what we value, and why we do this work. That reflection led to a renewed mission statement and vision that better captures our shared purpose. While the words may be new, the heart behind them remains the same: creating amazing learning experiences so that students feel valued, empowered, and challenged to seek out and chase down their passions.
That purpose guides every decision we make. Whether we are refining curriculum, expanding intervention and enrichment activities, strengthening multilingual learner supports, enhancing career exploration opportunities, re-invigorating the counseling program K-12, or providing meaningful professional learning for our staff, our focus is always the same: ensuring every student has opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
This year's district theme, Dream Big. Work Hard. Make it Happen., captures that journey perfectly. We want our students to dream beyond what they think is possible. We want them to understand that meaningful goals require perseverance, curiosity, and resilience. Most importantly, we want to provide the support, experiences, and encouragement that help turn those dreams into reality.
As Curriculum Coordinator, I have the privilege of working alongside incredible teachers, counselors, multilingual educators, interventionists, specialists, administrators, and support staff across all three schools. Every day I am reminded that our greatest strength is not a program or a curriculum resource. It is the collective commitment of people who believe in our students and work tirelessly to help them succeed.
I am excited for another year of learning, collaboration, and growth. Together, we will continue creating classrooms where students are challenged to think deeply, supported to grow confidently, and inspired to pursue futures filled with possibility.
Here's to a wonderful school year. Let's dream big, work hard, and make it happen...together.

With the additional questions raised regarding Health topics in grades 2 through 5, please note that the NJDOE and RTSD recognizes and respects that some families prefer to have certain conversations privately. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:35-4.7. (Parent's statement of conflict with conscience),
Any child whose parent or guardian presents to the school principal a signed statement that any part of the instructions in health, family life education or sex education is in conflict with his conscience, or sincerely held moral or religious beliefs shall be excused from that portion of the course where such instruction is being given and no penalties as to credit or graduation shall result therefrom. L.1979, c. 428, s. 2, eff. Feb. 11, 1980
